Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

4.0

This was yet another ride.
and I definitely enjoyed it!
I really like spending my time in the world of Throne of Glass, even though it is only a few moments of my day.

This book made characters grow on me even more. Aelin, Rowan, Aedion, Dorian and to my own surprise, even Lysandra and Elide turned out to be interesting characters to me. I loved the romance, emotions and the tension between two characters in particular in this and am looking forward to see where the next book will bring them.

This was exciting, epic and quite the adventure.
Nevertheless, I have to say that this was a little slow for me at times. This is probably due to my continuing disinterest in Manons storyline. I somehow had a hard time reading her chapters and forcing myself to really concentrate on them. It was difficult to really stay interested, as I was more interested in Celaena's storyline. In the second half of the book, this got better though. Until then, I was sometimes a little tempted to just read chapter summaries, which I additionally to reading the chapters did anyways so I wouldn't miss anything. I have hopes that with her small connection to Dorian now, she'll become a bit more interesting to me, too.
