This was a very compelling read. It's set in Enugu and highlights several injustices women suffer due to the cultural and religious systems of oppression prevalent in society. The plot was extremely fast-paced and I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it helped me get through the book in just two sittings because I was so curious to see how the story ends. But reflecting on the travails of these two women, after reading, I couldn't help but wonder if a slower-paced plot with more character development and adept internal dialogue would have made for a more memorable read.
