Twelve Nights at Rotter House by J.W. Ocker
dark
mysterious
tense
fast-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? A mix
- Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes
3.0
It really had me. I was gasping in horror. I was down right spooked. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to read it before bed.
And then I finished it and it just kinda missed with that ending.
It’s certainly a book written by a white guy and it shows. It’s a good romp. It’s fun. It’s not something I’ll go back to, I don’t think.
And there’s a lot to unpack with the lead’s best friend being black here. Just leaves a pretty bad taste after all’s said and done.
