Rise Sister Rise: A Guide to Unleashing the Wise, Wild Woman Within by Rebecca Campbell

5.0

Wow, this lady right here is off the hinges! I love her work so hard - been through both of her books this week. I read Light is the New Black in paperback and then listened to this book, Rise Sister Rise, on Audible (she has a great accent and reading voice). I ended up ordering a paperback version of this book too as I found it was hard to get through all of the inquiry prompts while listening, despite my mad scrambling to write everything down. The book is about 7 hours of listening, which I did over 2 days, but then I'd say I invested another 3+ hours in writing, so I recommend working with this book when you have time to dive deep, because if you are like me, that's exactly what you'll want to do. When I first started this book, it definitely felt a little out there. Very new age, feminine mystic, hippie chic. Then I realized I only felt that way because I was so uncomfortable with these aspects of myself and once I lowered my defenses, that's when the magic happened. These books are really about getting to know yourself and your power, not about "self improvement" or "fixing yourself." Its like every chapter (which are these small, bite sized nuggets of wisdom) there was some new insight or internal discussion that I feel has made me more attuned to myself and giving me a light to see where I am going. I can't wait until she writes another book.
