I think this was a fun middle grade story about being yourself and caring for nature, but as much as I appreciate these messages I couldn’t quite get into the book. The story is quite simple and direct, and slightly idealistic at times, but I would’ve liked more complexity. Maybe it’s because I’m outside the target age. I still think it would be really cool and inspiring for younger children too.
