The Queen of Blood by Sarah Beth Durst

5.0

I loved how consistently and diversely the theme of self vs nature was. Nature as personified by the spirits, but also within various characters' inner states. These characters felt quite real. They were strong, yet flawed. The world itself had a very interesting make-up, especially the method through which Queens are chosen.

I may have gone straight to a bookstore upon finish this novel to see if the sequel was out yet.
