The book that gave me a smile on my face anytime I listened to it. I really enjoyed reading this again, as I truly think there are never too many times to read a book about Anne. Her acceptance and encouragement towards everyone and anyone are really so refreshing and heart-warming to see in a character. Not to mention to resilience and her dedication to her studies, which really inspires me every day. Her focus on her dreams and the work that she puts towards them is astounding. Anne has always managed to be herself and to let others feel safe to be themselves whenever they are in her presence.

The only thing that worries me is that Montgomery might change all of this in the following books. Keeping in mind that this was written in the 19th century, and the fact that this book centres religion and a small community, my worry is that Anne might give up her dream of studying for a different pathway in life, when it is clear that she’s always wanted to obtain a higher degree education.

I am really excited to read the next books, and I just know that I will feel so comforted as soon as I dive into them. They have a certain magic to them!
