The Kennedy Heirs: John, Caroline, and the New Generation - A Legacy of Tragedy and Triumph by J. Randy Taraborrelli

4.0

I have a weird obsession with reading about The Kennedys. I have no idea why. This book gave a more realistic view of the aftermath of having such a notorious and famous political family. I loved and hated most of them. The drug abuse, drinking, sex addiction, and good ole mental illness and trauma were pervasive throughout the generations. It makes me sad for them, and although it was clear, JFK also had an addiction to pain meds it has been said and researched that it was due to all of his physical ailments. Ted was a drunk, but for some reason, Bobby stayed clean. But with the number of children they had, I'm sure the sexual addiction was present there, too. Nevertheless, The Kennedys lived fabulous and incomparable lives due to their sheer fame and money. But they also tried in their own way to be of service to their country, in spite of all their mistakes.
