The concept of this series is genius. Who would have thought that a paranormal version of ER would be just the thing I needed in my life?? Dr. Eidolon and his two younger brothers are Seminus demons who have opened a hospital to treat demons: Underworld General Hospital. Eidolon and his brothers are sex demons, but they also have healing powers that they use to help others. Their hospital is underground and it is protected by a spell that makes it invisible to humans. I love this world of demons, vampires, werewolves, and other shifters. And I love that it's mostly set in an underworld hospital!

Demons and other supernatural beings are at war with The Aegis, an organization that considers supernaturals to be evil and trains humans to slay them all. When an Ageis warrior—or as the demons like to call her, a Buffy—is brought into the hospital, Eidolon is forced to treat her wounds. And as a Seminus demon, Eidolon is also going through the final maturation cycle, which requires him to take a mate for reproduction purposes. To his surprise, he finds himself drawn to Tayla, the Aegis warrior whose life he saved. At the same time, there is a mystery surrounding the kidnapping of supernatural beings, whose organs are being harvested and sold in the underworld black market.

Look, I'm gonna be honest: this book is PROBLEMATIC. If you read some of the negative reviews on here, you'll know exactly what I mean. There are many weird things in this book that are not only problematic, but also kind of disgusting. I think it comes with the territory, given the demonic world that the author has built. Both the love scenes and the violent scenes are incredibly graphic. And there is a lot of death; side characters get killed left and right, which surprised the heck out of me. I think this may be the most graphically violent paranormal romance I've read so far.

Anyway, this book/series may be problematic, but it is also A D D I C T I N G. I couldn't stop reading! I read this book in one day! The characters are also very annoying, especially Wraith and Tayla, but they grew on me. Kind of. Sort of. Lol. Just keep in mind that it takes a long time for Tayla to get used to the idea that not all demons are evil. And Wraith...well...he's something else. But yea, I'm addicted and I definitely see myself binge reading at least the first three books.

CW: dubious consent, graphic and gory violence, violence against women, rape (off page, but briefly described)
