This book makes me upset I had the audacity to give any other book 5/5 stars before now.
I cannot remember the last time a book has made me feel so enraged — not at the writing, but alongside the protagonist. The betrayal Jonas feels when he discovers the truth of Release is justified! I’ve never been angrier than reading “Bye-Bye, little guy!”
This book may be “appropriate” for its YA demographic, but pulls no punches with its darker themes, truly shining through an adult lens.
