The Husband Hoax by Saxon James

5.0

If all the characters of the Husband Hoax boarded a train, that would be the literal definition of a Hot Mess Express. When Saxon James said she was starting a new series about disaster men I honestly couldn't have imaged just how unbelievably true those words would turn out to be...until I read this book. I swear Christian is the living embodiment of Murphy's Law. You know the one. "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong." I'm not kidding when I say I cringed in mutual embarrassment on more than one occasion while reading and it wasn't even happening to me! Thank the goddess Émile is impossible to embarrass because as it turns out, that's exactly the type of man who's the perfect fit for Christian.

Speaking of our other MC, Émile was nothing like he first appeared to be when the book began. Once he and Christian had their meet cute, his real personality began to shine through. And let me tell you folks, that man is freaking hilarious. Every time he threw a posh sounding dig it had me giggling like a loon. Not to mention the downright humorous ways he tried to take the heat off Christian in one of his disaster moments. They were quite inventive.

I can't end this review without mentioning the rest of the Christians crew aka the Lost Boys of Big Boned Bertha. From nudist hippie Madden to incurable hypochondriac Xander, these men are one of a kind misfits. I honestly don't know who I'm more excited for next, though I think Madden's story ought to be interesting considering the man loathes wearing any type of clothing. I also am sort of hoping that another side character Darcy, whom I totally warmed up to by the end, gets his own HEA with one of the guys. Guess time will tell!
