This was a pretty fun read, made even more fun (if strange) by the audiobook format. The audiobook's narrator really performs the text, which could be and might be annoying, but I think it fit the book and protagonist's voice perfectly.

In addition to being fun, this book explores gender identities from an interesting angle. The book is in the first-person POV of a genderless alien living on Earth, trying to survive by molding their body to match the expectations of society and its people. Adhering into bodily and gender standards is constant work for the alien, which I read as a metaphor for the way we real-world humans have to do it. This is harder for those of us that do not fit or want to fit the strict binary categories we're provided.

The book did get a bit repetitive and some parts could have been edited down a bit more, but the extra adventures being described don't make this short book too long.
