The Nine of Us: Growing Up Kennedy by Jean Kennedy Smith

4.0

Such a bittersweet book. A look back at a simpler time in America and at a family that would impact our history in such a profound way, but bittersweet because we know how these stories end. This memoir written by Jean Kennedy Smith focuses on the earliest years of one of America's first families. She speaks fondly of brothers and sisters who would have a major impact politically and in other fields as well. There are fond memories of their parents and grandparents as well, people who also shaped our country's history by the way they raised this large family. "What would you do if you were president?"... a dinner table game that would affect us all.
