Such an interesting story!! There are two POVs. The first follows a couple and their friend as they go to a remote island to renovate a house there. As soon as they arrive at the island, strange things happen and they realize that maybe they're not alone on the island after all.

The second POV follows Freyr, a psychiatrist living in Ísafjörður, whose son Benni disappeared three years ago. When an elderly woman, Halla, commits suicide, it appears that she was obsessed with finding Benni. Soon, more bizarre coincidences involving Freyr and Benni come to light. This POV is a little more difficult to follow as there are more names and people involved in the story, but in my opinion, it is as tense and exciting to read as the first POV.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The eerie atmosphere was well-crafted, making both storylines feel equally compelling. The author masterfully weaves together supernatural elements with psychological suspense. Though the pacing was slow at times, the chilling twists and the constant sense of foreboding made up for it. If you enjoy thrillers with atmospheric tension this is a must-read.
