Half of this book is very slow exposition, so if you do not like that then lord-almighty you will STRUGGLE! Like half this book felt like beautiful descriptions of clothes and architecture. Though, once the plot actually gets moving, it is a relatively fun ride that shouldn't disappoint too many YA readers, especially those who love Cassandra Clare.
I will most likely be getting the second book because by the end, I did really enjoy the world building and the characters presented! I don't CARE if the hardback is so much bigger than the rest of my puny paperbacks!
