I don’t know if I just misunderstood what “speculative” meant but this wasn’t what I was expecting and I was a little disappointed.  There were a fair number of horror and urban fantasy, and not as much sci fi as I assumed there would be.  I am not really into those genres as much and I struggled a bit to get through this.  There’s also a difficult line to walk in short fiction in showing us a complex world without overwhelming the reader and I felt like a lot of these stories were more leaning to being confusing than intriguing.
