Loose Girl: A Memoir of Promiscuity by Kerry Cohen

2.0

I was really excited to read this, and was happy to find it at a used book store for $1. Honestly, I'm happy I didn't pay more than that for it. I don't want to say anything too mean about it because this is this woman's life. I think my main problems with this book are 1. There is no introspection and 2. I didn't really care about her as a character.
The first thing: usually memoirs are about looking back and commenting on your life, trying to learn something or understand your emotions. This book doesn't do any of that. It really is just her naming off all of her sexual encounters-- and not even in an exciting way. It was merely "and then we did it." Over and over again. Which really cause the 2nd problem of me not caring about her as a character. Whether she is sleeping around or in a committed relationship, I had no emotional connection to this person, mainly because she did not explore her own emotions at all.
It was fine to read once, but I don't think I need to read it again.
