I loved these monsterous sapphics! Their rivalry was so fun, and each character was enthralling. Each of the main three really interacted with each other in such fun ways. I found it interesting how instead of giving the characters foils, they gave them parallels (albeit with dogooder morals). I really enjoyed the side conflict between Josef and Kajetan, they have their own poetic angst.
One thing that peeved me was the repetitive nature of the plot, the same goal chases the characters from a few chapters in to the very end of the book. It’s a very slow pace, which was constrasted with entertaining characters so it worked.
If you’re reading the book for entertaining characters and overall vibes, you’ll have a blast with this book. It’s an easy and fun read with tons of angst and anticipation. However, if you read for plot, you will probably enjoy it less.
Not a bad thing in my opinion, I read the book for the tons of monsterous sapphic pining!
