Clued in Christmas by Mia Heintzelman

3.0

The cute premise (with punny title) of a Clue-style cosy Christmas romance mystery drew me in, but did not really deliver and could not keep my attention.

The board game store is a fresh new angle and I liked the way each chapter title pointed back to the way you need to guess the answer when playing Clue.

I was connected to the story and the characters and the mystery until about halfway. The mystery element got a bit lost in the romance part of the book and I was not really interested in all the assumptions and miscommunications.

As this is book three in a series, I perhaps could have guessed I should have read the other two books, but usually this is fine and all books can be read as a standalone.
I did not really feel that, there was a lot of information (for instance references to going viral on social media) that did not make a lot of sense to me.

I liked Nadia and Micah together, but it felt as if I had missed too much of their history, so their second-chance romance was not convincing to me.
Also why is their ship name Nikah when it to me should me Nicah?

I shall have to try again after reading the first two books in this series!

I received an ARC of this book (thanks!) and these are my own opinions.
