I don't even know where to start with this one, to be honest. I guess just expressing my disappointment in this. I don't think it's fully the book's fault, though. I went into this expecting a mystery thriller and got no thriller and very little mystery. This was courtroom drama with a slight podcast element. That's it.

I wasn't very invested overall in the story, because I felt like I knew the truth from the very beginning. It was never really a question that Scott was a rapist, it was just a question of whether or not he would end up convicted. And, in Hannah's letters, it was never a question that Jenny had been raped and murdered. Honestly, I didn't even realize we were trying to find out the killer's identity until the very end-- we knew who they were, just not their name. But that was literally the only modicum of mystery in the book.

I think this book was probably fine for what it is, but it was presented in a very different light which did it a disservice.
