Kingdom of the Feared by Kerri Maniscalco

3.0

This was a disappointing conclusion. There were convenient solutions and plot developments galore, weak relationship development outside of Wrath and Emilia, and the plot moved so quickly it felt underdeveloped and lacking in depth. It was nice there was finally some spice (and a lot of it), but there is a time and a place, and a crowning ceremony in front of family is probably not one of them. Can we have spice but make it just a little more realistic?

I loved the brothers' relationships and the vulnerability there as well as getting more of Emilia and her sister, but neither of those things was enough to keep this book from feeling flat.

There seem to be plans for spin-off stories in this universe. I might pick them up if I get curious and am in exactly the right mood, but I don't find it very compelling at the moment.
