The Commitment: Love, Sex, Marriage, and My Family by Dan Savage

4.0

I never miss Dan Savage's Savage Love column, and I look forward every week to his podcast. I really liked this book. I thought it was laugh-out loud funny, and I enjoyed every turn of phrase and crazy anecdote. However, I felt that it was a little unfocused - he couldn't decide if he wanted to write a screed against any marriage, gay or straight, a screed against phony, phony-religious conservatives (I hope this is his next book, honestly)or a collection of his family life and anxieties and fears about "jinxing" a great, 10-year relationship. Even with its lack of focus, I tore through this, laughing all the way. You will, too!
