After receiving the first book in this series [b:Blood Lily|21102638|Blood Lily (Lilith Adams Series Book 1)|Jenny Allen|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1394281786s/21102638.jpg|40460551] for free in exchange for an honest review, I decided to buy this book to continue the series. While I enjoyed it, I didn't like it quite as much as the first book. My main issue was with Lilith and her aggression towards Cohen which persisted past all logic. It was weird that she was so quick to trust Nikki and others, but continued to attack Cohen for most of the book. I was glad when he pulled her up on it. Chance also irritated me a bit in this book as it felt that he became a bit nasty too. It seemed that both of them refused to evolve or develop as characters. My favourite characters in this installment were definitely Isadora, Nikki and Cohen.
While I got annoyed about Chance and Lilith, the story was solid and I was actually surprised by a few twists, which didn't happen in the first book. I felt that this book was tighter in terms of plot and direction. While the nightmares were a bit annoying at times, I liked that they had to deal with Lilith's PTSD and I loved having a protagonist with those problems, as she was still a hero even with her mental illness. I also liked that it had a proper ending, rather than a cliffhanger. I really enjoyed this book.
