I would say the book started out strong and flirted with being a five-star read for me. Unfortunately, it could not maintain that momentum, especially after one character's exit with a huge time jump that followed. And then, Electra's characterization felt particularly flat, a disappointment considering we get a more complex portrait of the relationships between Clytemnestra and her father and her and her mother. It was so, so close to being the next Circe for me but sadly doesn't quite get there.
