The concept is interesting, but the actual book is a major let down. I read summaries of the rest of the books in the series bc I was curious how the story would actually play out, and... 
Spoilerthis first book ends with a big disappointing cliff hanger, and even reading the summary of the whole story arc felt like a depressing waste of time, just my personal opinion!
