The Annotated Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, David M. Shapard

5.0

The Annotated Pride and Prejudice is absolutely the best way to read P&P. More than doubling the size of the original novel, it includes maps, explanation of terminology that was common in the day but not now, context relevant to the historical time period and culture, and more. It adds so much character to a book already brimming with character and made me appreciate even more just how brilliant of an author Jane Austen was.

Excuse me while I'm off to buy all the annotated versions of JA's books.
