Why did I take this long to listen to this book?!  This book was just a great representation of black love.  The way Kris and D'Vaughn told and showed love for each other was so special, it was hard not to continually swoon throughout the whole book.

It was shocking how Kris was so open to wanting a loving relationship with someone.  I feel like the characters in a fake dating story are creating the relationship for nefarious reasons.  But Kris was sick of not having meaningful relationships, so she went on the show to try and find one.  It was really refreshing to read a character like that.  Her family was hilarious!  There were so many moments where I was laughing out loud at the crazy things they were saying.

D'Vaughn was also a very fun character to read.  I mean she was a little oblivious to Kris' love for her, but that just comes with being an MC in a fake dating romance lol.  But all she needed was to have someone fight for her corner, and she was able to find that in Kris.  I also loved how D'Vaughn's family tried to be better for her after she came out.  It showed that there was growth for all characters.
