The Well of Ascension, by Brandon Sanderson

“He knew at that moment that he would never believe again.”

I’m dead inside, bye.

9/10

Not a perfect book by any means, but personal enjoyment (or emotional torture?) is far more important so it’s a 5 star read for me.

My main criticism is that the political maneuverings were more telling than showing. Too much of the time a character is verbally explaining why such and such plan is a good one or how it benefits one faction.

Favourite part by far is Sazed and what he went through. Loss of faith is one of my favourite themes to read. Adding personal loss and PTSD on top of that? Yes, hurt me. I love it.
