Having sworn off 'classic literature' since high school I decided to give it another try. I am glad I read Frankenstein. Mary Shelley truly is an artist and the writing is eloquent and masterful. While beautiful to read, it did remind me of the intense descriptiveness of Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
