The Possessed is the second book of the Dark Visions trilogy by L.J. Smith.
Kaitlyn, Rob, Gabriel, Anna, and Lewis are running away from the Zetes Institute. They are still bound by the link that Gabriel inadvertently created during the first book. They are not for sure where they are going, but one night, all of them share a dream of a beach with a white house in the distance. Several times they share this dream and ask who they are and where are they. They decide to find where the place is. On the way, they have weird experiences like getting angry with each other for no reason. They soon realize that Mr. Zetes is attacking them psychically.
Kaityln soon discovers that the crystal changed Gabriel and has enhanced his power. She eventually gets Gabriel to feed on her. Later, a newcomer, Lydia, saves them after an incident. Who is she? Will they reach the destination in time or is it too late for them?
I really liked this book. I love L.J. Smith’s Nightworld series and Forbidden Game trilogy. I don’t know if I like this trilogy more than these two, but it’s definitely a contender. Now on to the next and final book!
