There were some lines in here that genuinely made me cringe. But in the end, the love between Urho, Xan, and Caleb felt really sincere and genuine. I liked that this was a queer romance, and not just an MM romance, you know? I still feel iffy about the way Xan was presented as an allegory for a trans woman. There are a lot of issues with that in this universe, given its structure. Also, transness-as-metaphor is always gonna be tricky with fantasy MPREG, since there literally are trans men who are currently pregnant in our real world. That said, I am choosing to interpret Xan as a non-binary trans character, rather than a straightforward metaphor of trans womanhood. I have probably put too much thought into a decently written omegaverse erotica, but I really do think this was decently written. It is significantly more coherent world-building than most omegaverse fiction I've read in the past, that's for sure!
