Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz

2.0

2 and a half stars to be exact

Pros It was a nice quick read. It was a very new take on the other vampire books I read. The whole red bloods are human and blue bloods are vampires are interesting enough. I was expecting the silver blood to be purple actually.(red+blue=purple) So that's pretty much what i liked about the book. OH, and the fact that the "people" on the Mayflower were vampires! Now that's a history textbook i would like to read.

Cons It was very confusing at some times and to much unnecessary information was given. Like what they wore and the whole photo shoot scenes. I already know everyone in this book is bloody rich, you don't have to say what they are wearing over and over again. And did the photo shoot really need to be there? I know that that whole thing made Blitz and Schuyler friends then led to figuring out what Dylan was, however right after that Blitz just stopped being nice to her without a single reason. It makes Blitz looks like she only liked them because of Dylan. I feel like the author did that with a lot of characters, make them nice to each other just so they can cooperate then drop them when they were done with that problem. Like Schuyler and Jack. He was so nice to her by telling her all this info and saying we have to solve this together. Then, he gives he the cold shoulder after he revealed all the information needed in the story. I really HATED that about the story. Why must you give us false hope of friendship.

I think Melissa De La Cruz would better off making a shopaholic Gossip Girl kind of book cause all the characters' relationship with one another seems sorta fake like they're using you (except for Oliver & Schuyler)and that would be a great teenage high school book or whatever. Just don't think she's cut out to make a vampire book.
