I didn’t have a full understanding of the content of the book before I started reading and likely would not have chosen this book if I had.
The writing is excellent and I was captivated and disturbed by the world Greenwood created. I enjoyed reading through different characters’ perspectives to get a full picture of the Wavy’s life but I was shocked by the direction the book took. I can understand Wavy’s motives given her traumatic upbringing and age, but Kellen’s actions are inexcusable.
I can’t in good conscience give this a high rating since the subject matter is disturbing and encourages the reader to sympathize with a pedophilic relationship.
