Montserrat, a talented but socially challenged sound editor and her best friend, Tristán, a disgraced actor, meet one of their favorite horror movie directors and get caught up in a real world horror story. I loved the main characters and their oddly codependent relationship, the immersive 1990s Mexico City setting, the interesting take on magic, and how this book delivered some seriously creepy and horrific scenes.
