CRUEL AND CARELESS is Bailey Nicole's debut novel and she's not holding back, folks. The story follows Ben and Damon from alternating, first-person POV, and centers on addiction and being in a relationship with an addict. The highs, the lows, and everything in between. There's outside pressure on the boys, but the big baddie of the story is the drugs/addiction itself. Both of them have their own demons, but how they handle them - and each other - is the crux of the story. They have a great supporting cast and a very hard-won HEA.
It was a pretty quick read with short chapters (thank you! It makes it easy for my magpie brain to stay on track) and is the first standalone within an interconnected series. I'm very curious about the next book, which focuses on two side characters in this book. I can't wait to see where Bailey's career goes from here.
