Lorna Doone by R.D. Blackmore

Again, I have a problem with the star system as 2 stars in my mind should be less than okay, but this was okay.
It was a bit tedious in parts and irksome in others yet in others it was gripping and suspenseful.
It didn't really take me that long to read as I had to return it midway but it also was a book I put aside a few times for others.
I think this might be more appealing to younger children with their oh so virtuous heroes which at some point do grow old.
That said I could have abandoned it at any time and I did continue, perhaps compelled more by the fame of the tale rather than the interest it garnered but I did finish it.
Was helped by the fact that I listened to this and could attend to other tasks while listening.
