The Wish Collector by Mia Sheridan

5.0

When I discovered that Mia Sheridan, author of Archer's Voice, which is one of my favorite books of all time had written a Beauty and the Beast sort of tale, I jumped at the chance to read it. Beauty and the Beast retellings will always be my weakness.

This is a beautiful love story that had me in tears several times. It's Beauty and the Beast meets Phantom of the Opera, with so many references to both works that fans of either will absolutely adore. The love story here within its pages touched me in a way few romances have in a long while.
Yes, there is a bit of insta-love here (from the MMC), but that happens with a lot of Sheridan's works. However, you have to trust the process with her, and her stories always work out.

Not only did the love story touch me, but also the FMC's story in dealing with her father's Alzheimers. As someone who once had a father with the same disease, I related to so much of what was going on and said, and found it was treated respectfully and beautifully.

This is one story I will always treasure.
