The Deepest Well: Healing the Long-Term Effects of Childhood Adversity by Nadine Burke Harris

Originally, picking up this book, I thought it was going to be teaching me how to deal with childhood adversity and address them. As a young adult, I felt it was necessary because I know I've been carrying around lots of trauma with me. So about halfway through, I realized I wasn't going to be getting what I was looking for. But instead, I got something that was equally as good. Harris's research was based on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) I knew that this was right up my alley and something that I wanted to learn more about; especially because I have been thinking about going into medicine. However, about 75% through, it got pretty repetitive so I put the book down for a couple of days, and then I picked it back up a couple of days later because I just wanted to know more about it. 5-star reviews are rare for me. This was very well deserving of 5 stars.
