A fun urban fantasy wherein Adam, a gay witch from Oklahoma, must help his estranged brother and mother who had him committed to a terrible care facility as a teenager, deal with a lovecraftian horror that is terrorizing Denver. The writing style's a bit plain and straightforward, but incredibly readable and serves the story nicely. The characters are well-developed and interesting, and I appreciated that you get both Adam and his brother's point of views. I though the love triangle being built up was a bit meh, but it's a great start for what looks to be a fun series and a lovely romance.
Moderate: Child abuse, Homophobia, Forced institutionalization, and Murder
