Blood & Sugar by Laura Shepherd-Robinson

5.0

I could have easily devoured this book in a couple of days but needed regular breaks to come to terms with what I was reading? It’s heavy. I cried for Cinnamon and her Mama, for Tad and Amelia and her maid, Jamaica Mary, Moses and the other tragic characters in this book. Shepherd-Robinson is a master at creating fully fleshed-out characters and mysteries that leave me reeling — I was hooked from the first chapter. I will be reading Daughters of the Night very soon, and likely every book the author writes after that!
