CW: kink shaming, CONSENSUAL non consent, cancer, death of a spouse, grief, death of a parent, car accident
🌟 Blind Date (kinda)
🌟 👫 BDSM romance
🌟 Widower
🌶 Primal
🌶 CNC
🌶 Al fresco
🌶 Impact Play
Yet another book to add to the "I read this exclusively because of the kink, but it turns out that I was more emotionally invested than I expected" list.
The camp aspect of this series, first off, is a solid 10/10. I feel that every BDSM book I've read in the past 15 years has been set in sex clubs or dungeons. So this was a refreshing twist I didn't see coming. Also, the sense of community in the camp had me hyped. Grace and Max = friendship goals, and every other character we bumped into along the way was a 10/10.
Anyway. Grace, our heroine, is seriously repressed. Mostly down to her delightfully kink shaming ex. She's also overwhelmed, between working and taking care of her mum, she's finally taken a break to go on "holiday" ie to the kink camp. She gets the opportunity to fulfil a fantasy, anonymously.
Liev, our hero, is an understandably grumpy tortured widower who has a once a year anonymous one-off scene.
The two of them had chemistry that had me resenting every moment I had to put the book down 😒 I loved watching them suss out who their mystery person was. And their interactions were 🌶🌶🌶
