Ant-Man: Season One by Horacio Domingues, Tom DeFalco

3.0

Hank Pym is probably the biggest jerk in the Marvel universe. Not a villain or a bad guy though some of his actions in his personal life were criminal, but an abusive partner who belittled his partner and other women for decades of comics continuity. This book, like the others in Marvel's Season One line, re imagines the origins of some of its iconic heroes and Ant-Man. It does a fine job of portraying the origin of a broken, inward looking character as he takes his first steps towards heroism but by the end Pym's last line "justice can always depend on the Ant-Man" just rang false knowing what Pym would become.
