Ella at the Wells by Lorna Hill

4.0

It's generally acknowledged that the post-Masquerade Wells books aren't up to the same standard. This one does have the weird flashback structure they all seem to have but both the stories - Ella's and Mariella's are well-told. Usual period snobbery abounds. My copy has the more recent cover. If it had the one in the series I read as a child I would be tempted to keep it!
