Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin

5.0

I read this book years ago after my mum bought it for me as "a more grown up book". I was really into fantasy at the time so I remember reading the title and blurb and instantly thinking that it wasn't for me. But because my mum gave it to me I felt she had to see me reading it and I actually loved it.

Just as my mum intended, this was a real coming-of-age book for me. I can't remember specifics about the story but I know I demolished the book and afterwards I found myself never really reaching for any "children's" books again other than to reminisce.

I found this book recently when organising my bookshelves and immediately found myself wanting to read it again just for the nostalgia. Unfortunately, my TBR shelf is overflowing and I need to make a bit of headway there first!
