Why are all the names in fantasy books so hard to say?! I swear it's like with every single fantasy I read (not a lot ) the name just gets more complicated.

I love me some kick-ass female assassin. Calaena Sardothien is just the baddest of them all. I absolutely love her. Going into this I didn't expect her to be so fun and flirty but also badass. Took me for a surprise. I was expecting something extremely dark about her but that's not the case at all. She has her dark moments but she's also really fun and not afraid to be flirtatious with the enemies. I adore her personality.

Honestly, I can't decide between Dorian and Chaol, and it's not because I don't want to decide but because they haven't won me over. It's only the first book of a six book series, so who knows what will happen in the future books she might even meet someone new to fall for. It's strange because in these type of books I will have a deciding male and female to root for but I'm just not feeling it. Though reading it seems like she is physically attracted to Dorian and has feeling for Chaol but like I mention who knows what will happen in the next 5 books.

The plot was good, it has the first book feeling where it's need to be set up for the rest of the series. Though I feel disappointed with the competition. I wanted to see them competing with each other more epically. I am still a bit confuse about the whole magic system in this first book but I am pretty sure it will be explain more throughly throughout the series. I can't want to dive into this series. For the first time though, I am looking forward to knowing Calaena more than the romance in this series.
