Fame, Fate, and the First Kiss by Kasie West

3.0

I liked it and it was just what I expected from Kasie West, one of my all-time favourite contemporary authors, but in my opinion, it isn't her best book. It was a little bit... forgettable. I don´t know how to say it. The main character was not that relatable to me with her being a professional actor and also, I really changed a lot in the last half of last year. Before I was quite inexperienced with relationships - just like Kasie´s characters - but now I´m just not anymore and somehow that made it harder for me to identify with Lacey.
And Donovan just reminded me too much of other boyfriends the author has created. He kind of felt like the less intense version of Dax from By your side. Kind of. He just didn´t impress me that much...
Also, maybe because it´s related to Love, Life and the List (which I didn´t like btw) it felt as if there were too many too talented people in this book. I mean she is an aspiring actress, Abby a successful artist, Donovan hobby is kind of a secret but also impressive. It just makes it a little bit unrealistic, that no one is like... average. Wow, I really struggle with words today.

I know my review sounds super negative. But all in all, the book was fun to read, so don´t get hung up on my review and just try it yourself.
