The First Man by Albert Camus

5.0

I can add nothing of any real value to what has already been said about Albert Camus. His writing is powerful, articulate, moving and perceptive, and this - his most autobiographical story, probably best described as partly or semi-autobiographical - is no exception. You can choose your accolades at your leisure, but whichever words or phrases you select probably won't do it justice.
This is wonderful on another level as well. As an unfinished novel, the editors, in conjunction with Camus' family, have also incorporated Camus' footnotes, side-notes and a few other explanatory bits and pieces that bring a work of art alive, especially for someone interested in the process of writing.
If you know Camus, you'll love this. If you don't... ditto.
