Doctor Sleep by Stephen King

4.0

Thirty something years after the Overlook Hotel burned to the ground, little Danny Torrance is all grown up, but his "shine" has never left him, the visions of ghosts and death and the most private, horrific thoughts of those around him fading only with the oblivion of alcohol. Doctor Sleep isn't nearly so terrifying as The Shining, but it is just as thrilling. It's the same universe, and Dan has been greatly influenced and shaped by the events at The Overlook, so start with The Shining (the book, as some of the differences, say, in the very existence of some characters and powers, are different between the two), and prepare of that world to be explored and manipulated.
