I really enjoyed this book and found the narration and the tales of medical homicide especially enjoyable. However, I agree with other reviewers that the story veered a little off the rails toward the end.

I found it distracting that the opioids provided on his trip to Prague didn’t affect his closely monitored rehabilitation. It also seems odd that he  inexplicably acquired enough disposable income to fly to Zambia since I didn’t get the impression that a junior doctor at a struggling hospital would be flush with cash.

Overall, the weaknesses of the last 10-15% were far outweighed by the intrigue of the rest of the book.
