The Mark by Jason Pinter

3.0

Henry Parker graduates college and gets his dream job, hired by the New York Gazette. He gets sent out on a routine follow-up interview by his idol, Jack O'Donnell, Henry gets sucked into a maelstrom of murder, intrique and corruption in high places. On the run, wanted for the murder of a police officer and hunted by every cop in New York, the F.B.I.and a mob hitman. Henry catches a ride to St. Louis with Amanda and the manhunt intensifies. Deciding to return to the scene of th crime, Henry and Amanda catch the train back to New York, barely escaping the F.B.I. to attempt to clear his name. The final confrontation takes place with the mob, the F.B.I. and the cops all claiming a pice of the action. What has Henry uncovered? The ending is a little slick and the writing seems simple, but the action was fun. I will certainly read the next in the series to see how it continues.
